Starlight Princess 1000 is a 6x5 slot by Pragmatic Play who inspired by anime culture this time. They got carried away a little and created not only their own anime princess with a sapphire spear and golden armor but also a familiar – a heavily-feathered flying…cat?

Gameplay

The field is filled with 9 symbols. Minor paying symbols are: citrine (pays from $0,5 to $4), aquamarine (brings from $0,8 to $8), сhrysolite (gives from $1 to $10), azurite (makes from $1,6 to $16) and ruby (from $2 to $20). More you’ll get if you collect the symbols from the top 4 – Star, Crescent, Heart and Sun (max paying from $24 to $100). The game starts to pay out when you collect a minimum of 8 symbols on the board. Should I say that the maximum number of symbols that you can collect on one field is 30?

In addition to the 9 gemstones, the game offers a Scatter symbol – the princess herself. You’ll get $6 for 4 of them, $10 for 5 and $200 for 6. In addition to that, you’re awarded with 15 Free Spins. To get more Free Spins, you’ll need to land 3+ Scatters which will bring you 5 extra Free Spins. Or you can simply buy the free Spins. That will cost you 100x of your current total bet. Keep in mind that this feature is disabled when the 25x Ante is on.

Ante Bet

Thanks to the Ante Bet feature you can choose the bet multiplier. Depending on the selected bet, the game behaves differently. When the bet multiplier is 25x - the chance to win free spins naturally doubles and more Scatter symbols appear on the reels. The bet multiplier of 20x gives you the ability to purchase a Free Spins session by paying a value that is equal to 100x total bet.

Tumble Feature

Final Thoughts

When I saw the princess for the first time, I expected her to be more active at least during the winning combinations but no, she’s just hanging there in the air nearby the playfield, randomly changing her posture to another one.

I was having a hard time trying to land enough scatters to trigger the Free Spins session until I gave up and used the Ante Bet feature. It got easier since then. Many slots are marked as “high volatility” games but this one really feels like it is. You gotta try real hard to get what you came for, so when you do, you value it higher.
